Access to Emmerdale Tours site in North Leeds, a safety review of the proposed route from the south which included detailed route examination, consideration of trip distribution and impact on the route.
A large part of the scheme was to understand if the additional trips to the Emmerdale site would have a material impact on road safety.
The existing route suffers from high collision levels with 48 recorded collisions within a 2km section of carriageway. This area of the route is within a busy residential area with a number of schools, shops and community facilities.
The safety review identified that the impact of increased coach trips associated with the Emmerdale Tour would not have a material impact on road user safety.
